Lead Capture & Image Processing Researcher will report to the Research Manager as a technical lead and direct contributor to R&D’s transformative research initiatives. This role applies commercial science discipline to multi-modal data acquisition and hardware control via native iOS/Android and web sdk interfaces to the mobile platform.

This role works closely with other teams in the company to shape the capture interaction from a computer vision, image processing, and graphics algorithms perspective in pursuit of the company’s strategic vision.

Top 3 key outcomes in the first year include:

  1. Lead – Demonstrate and mentor in the exercise of best practices for commercial software design, review, coding standards, progress tracking. Propagate habits befitting a world-class research program.
  2. Create – Apply and develop fundamentally new real-time multi-modal data capture and device control algorithms, discover and define relationships between capture policy and ML model level of service performance characteristics. Prune and optimize ML models for mobile/hybrid deployments.
  3. Collaborate – Work closely with our platform group, with product and with decisioning to create a highly flexible and reliable tunable capture policy system.


  • Track record of success as a Lead Researcher
  • Extensive knowledge of mobile device hardware (image sensor module, chipsets, secure execution environment, etc) and operating systems
  • AuthenticID company values and culture fit
  • Ph.D. or Master’s preferred, but 10+ years of cutting-edge experience will do
